P.C. Werth Limited was established in 1947 as a supplier of hearing aid products to retailers. Today, through global partnerships with manufacturers of the most technologically advanced products and a dedication to excellent customer service, the company has become the UK’s largest independent technical supplier. P.C. Werth has built an enviable reputation for satisfying the diverse needs of professionals working in the audiological, occupational health, educational and allied communication sectors. The driving force for change One of P.C. Werth’s most important partners is Widex, the world’s leading manufacturer of digital hearing aids. As a key distributor of Widex products for almost 50 years with a significant UK customer base, P.C. Werth was keen to implement an e-commerce platform that would not only strengthen the relationship with Widex but also increase competitive advantage and enhance the company’s excellent customer service record. When the company started to analyse its key requirements it soon discovered that the existing supply chain solution, which had served them well in the past, would not meet their future needs. Listening to the customer P.C. Werth went on to evaluate several software solutions including Microsoft AXAPTA® and Microsoft Attain®, both of which are used by other Widex distributors, and also OneOffice from Strategix. John Schembri, Financial Director of P.C.Werth said, ‘Strategix had been on our radar for several years. They kept in touch with us, at a safe distance I might add, and we liked their approach. We were interested to hear what they had to say and to explore if their solution was the right solution for us.’ OneOffice - The right solution P.C. Werth was impressed at the openness of OneOffice and the experience demonstrated by Strategix when it came to interfacing with more complex applications such as CAMISHA, their 3D CAD-CAM system.
In addition, and of primary importance to P.C. Werth, was OneOffice’s Service Management capability which far exceeded anything else that the company had previously looked at. As well as manufacturing products, P.C.Werth has a state of the art calibration, instrument service and repair laboratory, and it is vital that customer orders are received, tracked, serviced, tested, despatched and billed in the quickest possible time.
Following a competitive evaluation, P.C. Werth decided that OneOffice provides the best overall fit - it seamlessly integrates with other core applications and combines Operations, Finance and Customer Relationship functions in a single, innovative system.
John Schembri added, ‘OneOffice gives us everything and more. It represents an excellent off the shelf solution but we can also enhance the system and add to it when required. We really feel that Strategix listened to our needs and responded. We are in the process of implementing OneOffice with 50 users, which will enable us to react more quickly to customer requests and trade more efficiently with our supply partners through a future-proof platform that’s cost effective and reliable.
